In between classes one day I turned on the French Open just in time to see French men’s tennis player Josselin Ouanna on the tube winning a match. In the stands watching was his friend Gaël Monfils who the sportscaster mentioned as being another French tennis player.  After mentioning my discovery on my Facebook page, my boyfriend asked why I wasn’t interested in researching Jo-Wilfriend Tsonga.  This was my introduction to the new class of black tennis players.   I’m ashamed to say that my knowledge of these young men is minimal.  The last young black male tennis player I was able to name was James Blake and I haven’t been following his career in a while. So for those of you who are in the same boat, I’ve put together a collection of articles for you.  An introduction to the new class of black tennis players.
